The 14.4 is lighter than the 18 volt but still has plenty of power for normal construction use. This deal combines the Drill/Driver with an Impact and a charger, all together in a tough, heavy duty bag that you can throw in drill bits and accesories.
Its been over 1 year since I got them, I'm really happy with this tools. I bought this combo for my construction jobs, I put them under really heavy operation and never have any problems.
Very expensive. The drill and impact have plenty of power. The only negative I have found on Dewalt's 14.4 tools are the price of the batteries.
It makes fastening jobs so much easier with no stripping screw heads or pre-drilling. This has got to be one of the best combo packages out there. You can not beat the price for this combo package well worth it. The hammer drill is very powerful though I have not used it yet to its full potential. The impact drill is the best I have ever used. I own my own woodworking business and I should have bought this drill years ago.
The hammer drill works great too. Just got these in the mail today and used both of the drills tonight. I am building a house right now and I can already tell how useful these drills will be. A+.
With one hand you can tighten the drill bit.like I said I am in love. I would recommend this package to anyone in the market for a new drill set. The other thing I love about this drill is the ease in tightening the bit onto the drill. No problem at all with this drill.
I am building the countertops for my home and the screws I drive into the plywood sheets enter the wood with amazing speed. The security screws that hold the deadbolt catch are so long that you have to drill into the foundation. So far they work great. I used it tonight to drill a door catch for my basement door.
Although you can still drive the screw deeper if you wish. The impact drill drives screws fast and easy. The other nice thing about this drill is that the torque "breaks" when the screw is flush with the wood.
